The High School Chess Championships are being held in Atlanta, GA, April 18th through 20th. Three parents, John Smyth, Patrick McTeague, Shenghao Jin, and I will accompany thirteen students from Masterman who will be competing in the tournament. We will fly from Philadelphia on Thursday, April 17, 2008 and return Monday, April 20, 2008. Lodging will be at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, which is the site of the tournament.

5 sections: K-12 Championship; K-12 Under 1600, K-12 Under 1200, K-12 Under 800, K-12 Unrated.
Entry fee: $40 if p/m by March 19, $60 if p/m by April 2, $75 after April 2 or $80 at site.
Main Event rounds: Friday 1 pm, 7pm; Saturday 9 am, 2 pm, 7 pm; Sunday 9 am, 2 pm.
Opening Ceremony: 12:30 pm Friday. ½ pt bye any round except seven if requested in advance (limit one).
Awards: 7 pm (approximate) Sunday.
